What is a process & a system?

I get this question often. How do I know if I need a process or a system? What does that even include?

A system is defined as a set of things working together as parts of mechanism or an interconnecting network OR a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done.

Ok that is very wordy but it is essentially how individual things work together. A process is the methodology you have to execute the system. So your business has these things! The key is documenting them and then executing said process & system. 

You can have a process for so many areas of your business:

  • Your service you provide
  • Your content writing/strategy/posting
  • Your accounting
  • Hiring & training
  • Your sales
  • Your onboarding and offboarding
  • Your actual event days

Systems to me are the way you execute your process. So for example, the CRM system you use, the project management system, how you business may be set up using google drive, dropbox or other types of softwares you are using.
